SPEAK UP, ARKANSAS! ON TAXES (NOV. 4)

(Oct. 29, 2004) The Policy Foundation will participate in a live call-in program, Speak Up, Arkansas! On Taxes, that will air on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN). The program will air Thursday, Nov. 4, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and viewer participation is encouraged.

“The program will focus on the Arkansas tax system, how it works, where the money goes, and whether there is need for reform,”according to the invitation. “One of the main goals of the program is to educate the Arkansas taxpayer and provide them with information on how they can have an active role in shaping tax policy. The two hours will be interactive with questions coming from all around the state via phone, fax, e-mail and five sites that will be connected with AETN via compressed video. There will also be a studio audience present to ask questions.”

Other confirmed guests include a representative of Arkansas Advocates For Children and Families, an official of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration; and state Sen. Tim Wooldridge, D-Paragould.

Journalist Steve Barnes will moderate the program. Co-hosts are Pamela Smith of KATV and Alice Stewart of KARK.
